How to use large and medium-sized tractors

Author: Hou

Sep. 25, 2024

During the use of tractors, the working capacity of parts or matching parts will gradually decrease or lose due to loosening, wear, deformation, fatigue, corrosion and other factors, causing the technical status of the whole machine to be abnormal. In addition, working media such as fuel, lubricating oil, cooling water, hydraulic oil, etc. will also be gradually consumed, which will destroy the normal working conditions of the tractor and aggravate the deterioration of the technical status of the whole machine.

In order to keep the hilly mountain wheel tractor in good technical condition and extend its service life, the tractor must be properly operated, maintained and adjusted.

How to use large and medium-sized tractors

(I) Starting the engine

1. Preparation before starting

Before using, a careful and comprehensive inspection of the tractor can eliminate hidden dangers of failure and effectively prevent accidents.

(1) Check the oil level of the engine oil pan.

(2) Check the oil level of the gearbox and rear axle.

(3) Check the oil level of the steering tank.

(4) Loosen the flameout cable locking device to loosen the flameout cable and put the fuel injection pump in the fuel supply position.

(5) Check the gearbox levers and power output levers to make sure they are in neutral position and the hydraulic lever is in the lowered position.

2. Start the engine

Insert the key into the lock and turn the key clockwise to start the engine. Return to the "N" position after starting.

(1) Once the engine is running, release the lever immediately.

(2) The continuous starting time shall not exceed 15 seconds. (If the engine fails to start within 15 seconds, it should be stopped for 2 minutes before starting. If it fails to start for 3 consecutive times, the cause should be found out before starting.

(3) After the engine is started, it should be idle at about 800R/MIN. The water temperature rises to above 60and the pressure is above 0.1MPA before it can be put into operation.

(II) Starting the tractor

1. When the engine is in a low speed state, press the clutch pedal to disengage the main clutch, and then shift the gear lever to the required gear.

2. Sound the horn and observe whether there are any obstacles around.

3. Gradually increase the engine speed and slowly release the clutch pedal to start the tractor smoothly. Release the clutch pedal after starting to prevent clutch slippage.

4. Gradually increase the throttle to allow the tractor to reach the required working speed. speed.

5. It is not allowed to use the semi-clutch method to reduce the driving speed of the wheel tractor during use. Do not keep your feet on the clutch pedal during driving to avoid accelerating the wear of the release lever, release bearing and friction plate.

(III) Tractor steering

When the tractor is driving at high speed, remember not to use single-sided braking for sharp turns. When the front wheel makes a sharp turn, if there is a squeaking sound when the safety valve is activated, the steering wheel should be returned a little to avoid long-term overload of the hydraulic steering system.

Before turning or reversing in field operations, be sure to raise the working parts of the agricultural machinery buried in the ground to avoid damage to the agricultural machinery or casualties.

When the tractor makes a small turn or turns on soft land, the steering is not smooth due to the side slip of the front wheel. You can step on the corresponding one while turning the steering wheel. The brake pedal on the side is used to help with steering.

(IV) Tractor driving

When the tractor is driving on the road, the interlocking plate should be used to lock the left and right brake pedals together. Prevent unilateral braking from causing the tractor to deviate or overturn. In general, the throttle should be reduced first, the clutch pedal should be pressed, and then the brake pedal should be pressed according to the situation to stop the tractor smoothly. In case of emergency stop, the clutch and brake pedals should be pressed at the same time to prevent the brake friction plate from aggravating wear or the engine from stalling. When working in the field, unilateral or full braking can be selected according to the actual working conditions and needs. When using unilateral braking, the interlocking shaft needs to be removed, and unilateral braking requires low speed to avoid deviation.

(V) Differential operation

When the tractor is driving or operating, if it encounters a stuck vehicle or unilateral drive slips, the tractor cannot When moving forward, you can follow the steps below to engage the differential, so that the left and right drive shafts are rigidly connected and the vehicle can drive out of the slippery area at the same speed.

1. Depress the main clutch pedal and operate the gear lever to engage the low gear.

2. Pull the throttle control handle to the maximum position.

3. Press the differential control pedal with your right foot.

4. Release the clutch pedal smoothly to start the tractor smoothly.

5. After driving out of the slippery area, release the differential pedal and the differential will automatically disengage.

6. It is strictly forbidden to use the differential lock during normal driving and turning, otherwise it will damage the machine parts and accelerate tire wear, and even cause rollover accidents.

(VI) Power output operation

1. Depress the clutch pedal to the bottom, the secondary clutch is disengaged, and the power output shaft stops rotating.

2. Press the power output shaft control lever down to engage the power output shaft.

3. Slowly release the clutch pedal to start the operating machine.

(VII) Tractor parking and engine shutdown

1. Reduce the throttle to reduce the garden tractor's driving speed.

2. Depress the clutch pedal, then the brake pedal. When the tractor stops, put the gear levers in the neutral position.

3. Release the clutch and brake pedals, reduce the throttle to make the engine run at idle speed.

4. Pull the flameout lever back, the oil pump stops supplying oil, the engine immediately shuts down, and then pushes it back to the fuel supply position.

5. Turn the start switch key to the "OFF" position and turn off the power switch.

6. Pull up the parking brake handle.

7. When you have to park on a slope, you should shift gears (forward gear when going uphill, reverse gear when going downhill) to prevent the tractor from starting suddenly and causing danger.

8. If the temperature is below 0, the Agricultural tractor that does not use antifreeze must unscrew the water tank drain valve when the engine is idling, and then shut down the engine to prevent the cooling water from freezing and cracking the body.
